I have been making knives since 1989. I am a member of the North Carolina Custom Knife Makers Guild and have studied under Jim Baston, Don Fogg, Darrel Ralph, Ed Halligan, and Tommy McNabb.
The knives pictured here are but a small example of my work. Each blade is hand forged over a coal fired forge, tempered, and finished by hand. My primary style is primitive and is representative of the knives used during the colonial era. Each knife is an original and no two are exactly alike.
All blades are made of high carbon steels such as 1095, 1084, 5160, and L6. Damascus blades are made of 1095 and L6 or 1084 and 15n20. Handles can be made from several natural materials, such as deer antler, elk, stag, native hardwoods, maple, walnut, oak or ash, as well as other handle materials upon request.
These knives are crafted to be used, are field worthy, and period correct. If used properly (and not as a screwdriver or pry bar) they will last a lifetime. Each of my knives is guaranteed for as long as owned by the original purchaser.
I look forward to building you a unique custom knife, one that will serve you well for years
to come. -![]()
